  • What is Sports Massage Therapy?

    - Break down of scar tissue.

    - Tension and pain relief through removal of waste products and release of endorphins.

    - Relaxation and anxiety reduction.

  • What should I wear for a Sports Massage?

If treatment on the legs is requried, then shorts allow easy access to treat the muscles effectively.

If treatment on the back/neck is requried then a clip-on bra allows access to effectivly treat the whole back and all relevant muscles.

The client's comfort and modesty is paramount at all times.

No matter what clothes you decide to wear, I will be able to deliver an effective massage, as there are a range of massage techniques that can be applied through clothing and I always adapt my techniques to the client's level of comfort.

    Towels are provided for clients.

  • How often should I have a Sports Massage?

That depends on the individual and their current condition, how often and hard they train, and if there are any injuries that require more thorough and frequent treatment.

I will be able to advise you on how frequent you should have a sports massage based on your case history and how well you are responding to the treatment.

As an example, someone may come once or twice a week in the early stages of injury, depending on the severity, then as they recover their appointments will become more and more spaced out.

A maintenance massage once every week to four weeks would then be advised.

Sportspeople, gym-goers and hard-labourers that have a particularly taxing physical regime, may benefit from a more frequent sports massage inorder to prevent injuries and to assist in recovery.

  • I don't have any equipment at home, will I be able to have an effective Home Personal Training session?

A wide range of portable exercise equipment is provided during sessions such as kettlebells, resistance bands, slamballs and more.

As an experienced Personal Trainer I am able to optimise the use of each piece of equipment through thorough planning and programming.

Free weights and functional equipment have been proven to be more beneficial then fixed resistance machines, as they are better able to replicate everyday movement patterns.

They also develop balance, stability and coordination.
